Our School
Brunswick South-West Primary School
Inclusive - Respectful - Curious

Our vision at Brunswick South West, is for our children to become curious life-long learners, inclusive of everyone and respectful of themselves, others and the environment.
We engage, challenge and empower our students so that they become curious, inclusive and respectful individuals.

Principal's Welcome
Brunswick South West Primary School sits in a beautiful old building with plenty of space to roam. It's the kind of place where students are curious, families feel at home and every child is known.
We are another great state school, proudly so, and that means we're here to provide public education for everyone.
Our teachers know their students well; not just where they're at academically, but who they are. We follow the Victorian Curriculum F–10 and the Victorian Teaching and Learning Model. Our specialist programs feature Chinese, Physical Education, Science, Library, Performing Arts and Visual Arts.
Our facilities include a library, a multi-purpose hall, gaga pits and a garden complete with chickens! Students make full use of both the indoor and outdoor spaces. The natural surrounds are very much part of how we learn.
Wellbeing is at the heart of all we do, because students learn better when they feel safe and ready to learn.

Our Grounds
Our school features four main buildings:
- an original heritage school building from 1926 – known as ‘the red brick building’
- a hexagonal library and classroom building with an outer ring of classrooms and specialist rooms featuring undercover walkways and courtyard gardens – known as ‘the grey brick building’
- a purpose built hall / indoor basketball court with stage, kitchen facilities, bathrooms and sports storerooms
We are lucky to have extensive grounds at our school including a large grass oval, a newly-resurfaced basketball court, artificial turf court, two gaga pits and two playground areas. Our grounds also hold a native butterfly garden, an award-winning kitchen garden, orchard and a coop of resident chickens.
